Child’s Play | Spotlight on Transitional Playroom Inspiration

Have you had that realization of late that it’s been a while since you’ve had a barefoot-Lego mishap? The ah-ha moment that your kids just aren’t playing with toys the way they used to? The sinking feeling that it’s time to attack the pile of plastic you have lovingly and systematically accumulated in bins and baskets in your basement for so many years? Get excited. It may be time to curate a less manically colourful space and customize a place for your older kids to hang out with friends, watch TV and “chill”. There’s still a place for homework and crafting, it’s just not quite as messy. Heavier on comfortable (and still durable) seating – that you can actually sit on – that will still have to be crumb and spill resistant. Lighter on the amount of “stuff” but stuff nonetheless that needs to be neat and organized. Here are a few ideas to inspire you to fire up that Kijiji account or place a few treasures on your curb free to a loving home. You may not be ready for The Wonder Years, but at least your home will be!
